Right to Work Compliance Policy: Smithfield Performance Limited
Right to Work (RTW) Compliance is the legal obligation for UK employers to verify that their employees and contractors have the necessary legal permission to work in the UK before they begin employment. Our checks apply to all prospective workers, regardless of their nationality, race, or ethnic background. All checks will be completed and verified before the individual performs any work.
Policy Objective
- Smithfield Performance Ltd is committed to preventing illegal working in compliance with the Border Security, Asylum and Immigration Act 2025. As a micro-business, this policy ensures all employees and professional associates engaged to deliver client services have the legal right to work in the UK.
Procurement Protocol
- For employees we use a three-step framework (Obtain, Check, Copy) for original physical documents (e.g., birth certificates alongside National Insurance numbers).
- Where Smithfield Performance Limited engages long-term professional associates on a Business-to-Business (B2B) basis, the associate warrants through our standard Service Agreement that they operate as an independent commercial entity and maintains full legal compliance with UK immigration laws. No direct document collection is required for entities fulfilling these criteria. We verify the business status of professional associates by holding on file one of; their Limited Company registration number; a copy of their professional Public Liability or Professional Indemnity Insurance certificate; their VAT registration number.
